Loving Brother and Sister - Kind of

This morning we had a yard sale at our house. By 9 o'clock a whole 3 people had stopped by for a grand total of $14. So we decided to call it a day and try again next week. Between now and then we're going to try to advertise a little more so hopefully we'll have a better turn out. But we've still had a really fun morning despite the part about being up way too early. Now we're just waiting on the grandparents (Jon's parents) to get here. They're staying and visiting with us until tomorrow. Here's a little peek into our morning!

Sorry about the bad quality pictures. We used the digital camera that we normally take videos with (not our video camera) because the nice camera didn't have the memory card in it, and we were in a hurry to get these taken.

Right before this picture we told Asher to kiss Lorelai, but of course he kissed her too fast for us to catch it on camera so we decided to say "1, 2, 3" to get the timing right. Unfortunately we didn't think beforehand about how "1, 2, 3" is what Asher likes to say right before he tumbles onto something or onto someone. This is what happened after "1, 2, 3."

Lorelai was not happy.

Yikes! It's been too long!

It's been such a long time since I've posted (almost a month, I think!), but I'm back. Some of you know we've had a lot going in our lives lately. Things are stressful yet exciting. If you think about it please keep our family in your prayers as our faith is tested during this time and we learn to depend on God more. Also, please pray for guidance. Thanks!

In other news the kids are doing great! Asher is still his crazy, wild self. Two year olds really are a lot of fun! He's talking non-stop still and has learned to read some of his letters and numbers. He can say all of his numbers and letters, but we're learning to read them all right now. It's so much fun to see him learn new things everyday! He also loves to dance. I like watching So You Think You Can Dance, and as you can see Asher enjoys it too!

Lorelai is also learning so much! She is sitting up, army crawling perfectly, learning to crawl on all fours (she can only go so far this way), and pulling up to a stand. Last night was the first night she pulled up in her crib, and I'm so glad we checked on her at bedtime to see her doing it. We decided right then that it was time to lower the mattress. I can't believe it's already time for this! She's still tiny (only 15 pounds) so she looks pretty funny sometimes doing these things to me. She just seems too small to be doing such "big girl" things. Or maybe it's simply because I still think of her as my baby. Either way she's growing up so fast!

All of our professional pictures

Asher did much better than Lorelai at smiling which is a first. The sun was just too bright for her precious little eyes.

Asher's feelings about God

This video is so funny! We ask Asher three questions in it: Where's God?, Who did God send?, and Who does God love? On the "Who did God send?" question he's trying to do sign language for Jesus, but he only ever does half of it. Anyway, the funny part of the video is at the end. When we ask him "Who does God love?" he never answers because he wants us to answer. He likes the dramatic effect, I think. :) Just watch, and enjoy!

Asher changes a diaper

The other day Asher got this stuffed bear we have and started pulling the wipes out one-by-one and wiping the bear's bottom with them. He seriously went through a ton of them before we saw what he was doing. He then grabbed a diaper (Jon had gotten it out to change Asher's diaper earlier, but ended up not using it) and started trying to put it on the bear. Of course you never have a camera when you really want it. However, today we got a close reenactment. He seemed to want to do more wiping than anything, though.

Please excuse Lorelai getting a tad bit fussy towards the end. It was definitely bed time for both of them, but we had to get this on video while we could. And that laugh of Asher's! Well, you'll just have to hear it. We laugh everytime he does it.

Things are back to normal......for a bit

I haven't made any new posts lately because Jon has been out of town so I've obviously been very busy. He left last Friday for youth camp in Panama City and didn't come home until yesterday (Tuesday). We were SO glad to have him back. We missed him so much! I didn't really get to take any new pictures while he was gone because I just wasn't thinking about it, and the camera was never near when I did, but I did take a few on my iPhone so I'll at least share those.

As I said we're so glad to have Jon back, but he's leaving us again for a week to go on a mission trip to San Diego. I'm going to be so glad when these trips are completely over. It's kind of hard to enjoy him being home now when I know he's leaving again soon. Anyway, that's all for now. I'll update more later, but I just wanted to get in a quick post on what we've been doing.
