We are finally home from a wonderful vacation! We went to Garden City Beach, SC with my family for a whole week! It was really fun. We got to visit with my dad, step-mom, brothers (and in-law), sisters (and in-laws), and nephews. I was so glad that Asher got to play with his cousin Rivers. They don't get to see each other very often so it was good for them to see each other again. Asher was his normal skiddish self lately. He has never been on the beach before (with the exception of when he was 4 months old) so this was very new and different for him. He didn't like the sand a whole lot. He did, however, warm up eventually enough to run around with his dump truck on the water. He also let Papa take him in the water and they jumped over the waves. Lorelai was her normal happy and brave self who just smiled and had fun even though it was weird and new. I also got to spend my birthday there. What better place is there to be on your birthday than the ocean? Here are some pictures from the week.
After we left the beach we went to Augusta to visit Jon's parents. We were able to visit with them and Jon's brother, sister-in-law, and their two precious children. It was so nice visiting with everyone that we don't get to see very often. We'll have to do it again sooner!
As much fun as we had while we were gone we are so glad to be home. The kids missed out on a ton of sleep so they're still catching up. This morning Lorelai didn't wake up until 10 AM, and Asher didn't wake up until 1 PM!!! It was crazy! And right now Lorelai is in the middle of the longest nap of her life! Here is a video of the kids the night we got back home. As you can tell they were THRILLED to be back.
